Kinja'd!!!

A warehouse in the Beirut port stores 2,750 tons of Ammonium Nitrate for six years, until today.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Please do not store thousands of tons of ammonium nitrate for six years. Or for any length of time.

Thank you.

Indeed...some of the explosion footage is startlingly terrifying. Even when compared to the Chinese port explosion of a couple of years back....

Oz prime minister has said that our embassy building in Beirut is 'compromised'. All staff are safe but building itself is said to be very broken.

One time during a risk inspection, I saw what I would describe as a small mountain of propane tanks (50-60) , just piled up outside a building.

Don’t do that either.

Am I wrong looking at the footage that there was some manner of fire followed by the explosion?

“Hey, know that stuff that tends to blow up? Let’s leave a bunch of it in a warehouse and forget about it”

It fertilized the air, as evidenced by the sudden gaseous expansion.

Also do not store thousands of used tires under a highway viaduct.
